Good

The doctors are fantastic and try their best to help in every way they can. They speak to you with respect and are extremely well mannered.

The service from the receptionists needs to improve. The majority of service users are aware of the current status of the NHS, a lack of funding the shortage of appointments and long waiting lists. The receptionists are the first port of contact and often the issue is not what they are saying but how they are saying it. If there are no appointments left for the day then there are no appointments, that is a fact that no one can change however receptionists at the surgery namely Munirah are very rude and ill mannered. She often speaks in a tone that undermines or patronises the patient. This is mainly true when she is giving instructions or conveying a message from the doctor. She has no regard for who she is speaking to and fails to understand that the person on the other end of the phone does not lack knowledge or an education and may in fact be a medical professional themselves. She speaks down to you and makes you feel as if you are a child that has a lack of understanding. I understand that it is a stressful job, however that does not mean they are free to be rude. I feel it is extremely important for staff to be given training on good phone manner and how to speak to patients with respect and dignity. It should be noted that patients come to the surgery seeking help, they’re not there to be disrespected or spoken down to which is the case most of the time when speaking with certain admin staff members.

My mum was asked to come in to give a blood test as she’s on blood thinner- this was a fasting one an mum is 90yrs old. Came hm an was ok but the next few days she wasn’t well. A wk later I was asked to bring her back as receptionist had forgotten to send the blood. This concerned me as mum was just recovering. I made the appointment but on the morning of the test mum wasn’t well an wen I rang surgery I was in a que number 22. How do I notify surgery tat mum won’t be attending. Not very happy.
