There are a number of services locally that you are able to make self referrals to.

GP referrals
Referrals to NHS hospital services can only be made following a consultation with a clinician.

Provide as much information as you can as this will help us to process your request.
Tracking a referral
You can now use the NHS app to book, amend or track an NHS hospital appointment.
If you have been referred to University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust please wait at least one week then you can contact their elective care referral hub on 0300 303 1563 for further information or if you have queries about your appointment.
You can also contact them via email: bookingcentre@uhl-tr.nhs.uk
If your referral was not requested by the surgery please contact the provider directly.
NHS e-referral
If your doctor has referred you to a specialist for further care you will be asked to book your appointment using the ‘NHS e-Referral’ system.
You will receive a letter from us within two weeks giving details of how to book your appointment and any passwords you may need.
Private referrals
Seeing a private specialist leaflet (PDF) describes what you can expect to happen if you ask your GP to refer you to see a specialist doctor privately or you choose to see a private specialist without referral.
